Zurich Airport, situated straddling Kloten, Rumlang and Oberglatt 10kms north of Zurich, is Switzerland’s largest international gateway and is the hub for Swiss International Airlines. The jewels in its crown are its passenger services and its high standards, for which it recently won the prestigious World Travel Award for the sixth year running due to its quality and professionalism.

Zurich Airport serves the city of Zurich and the surrounding area, providing international flights by a large number of carriers to major towns and cities worldwide as well as domestic flights within Switzerland. All the major passenger airlines as well as a large number of freight carriers are served by the airport.

Zurich Airport has three runways, 60 aircraft stands and two terminals with over 100 passenger gates and excellent facilities. Terminal A is used for European routes and international TWA flights, and Terminal B deals with all other international flights plus charter flights to a huge number of destinations worldwide. The airport handles more than 22 million passengers annually.

Major flag-carrying airlines serving the airport include Air France, Air Canada, Aeroflot, Air India, American Airlines, Alitalia, British Airways, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus and Thai Airways. A number of charter and budget airlines use the airport for passenger flights to major tourist destinations.

The most popular routes overall are to major towns and cites worldwide, including London, Paris, Rome, Moscow, New York, Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo. During the summer months, flights to Malta, Greece, Portugal, Italy, France and other vacation destinations come into their own.
